Cleanways for water, air, energy, and community
Summary
The Cleanways are a series of infrastructure elements designed to address critical air quality and connectivity issues in the South Bronx. The cleanways design combines a microgrid plan with a greenways initiative to create safe passage for pedestrians through truck routes, food access, and filtration of stormwater. The cleanways plan brings the waterfront to inland neighborhoods, returns wetland bio-diversity to the waterfront and provides energy security to the Food Distribution Center.
