Formally Prioritizing Organizational Goals
Summary
The ecosystem of triple bottom line food businesses can be complex. For an organization whose broad goal is to support these businesses in whatever way possible, it pays to set clear goals. Every year, FoodLab Detroit sets a "Community Action Goal." This is clearly defined goal/initiative established collaboratively by FoodLab's staff and members. The goal comes with definable metrics for success. One example of the Community Action Goal was 2013's Operation Above Ground. This initiative aimed at helping businesses better understand the complex world of policy and regulation of food products.
